Manufacturer Coupons
Store Coupons
These
are coupons that specific stores produce to get you to shop at their
store. You can find these in store ads sent through the mail, online
(depending on the store), and in the ads found at the front of the store
when you walk in. You can combine these coupons with store sales and
with manufacturer’s coupons to maximize savings.
Printable Coupons
Pretty self-explanatory. These can be manufacturer or store coupons that you can print at home and bring in to the store just like a regular coupon. Generally, each coupon can be printed twice.
Peelies/Item Packaging Coupons
Peelies are those coupons that are on the actual product that you can peel off and use to save money. Sometimes you can use them on that day’s purchase, sometimes you must wait to use them on your next purchase. My rule is to just try using it on your current purchase, and if it doesn’t work, no big deal, just save it for the next trip.
Blinkies
Blinkies are the little boxes that blink on certain aisles. They distribute coupons (usually manufacturer’s coupons) for particular items that they are placed next to.
Catalinas
Catalinas are coupons that you get at checkout along with your receipt. You know, those thin white slips of paper that the cashier hands you along with your receipt. Sometimes an item you bought triggers the catalina, and sometimes not. Fabulessly Frugal has a great explanation of Catalinas here.
